The trunk of my 1997 BMW 528 will not open unless I insert the key in. It seems like the actuator may be damaged. Is there anybody who can give some pointers about how to replace it? I am thinking about ordering a new actuator on line and doing it myself. Any help will be really appreciate it!! Thanks... [thumb]

Removing Trim Panel From Trunk Lid.

Pull off connector, unfasten screws and lift out lock with actuator
drive.

Unfasten screws.

Drive pin (1) out of stud (2). Pull out stud (2) upward and take off actuator drive.

Reverse above procedure for installation

hope this helps
