Hey,

So we got the ML500 back from service today and it got new tires and new brake pads and rotors. It also got a couple things fixed that it needed (speedometer dash light was out, left rear brake light was out, and rear windshield washer). Anyways, I decided to wax it but I was feeling kinda lazy to go do the regular waxing process, particularly on a big SUV. So I went to KMart and picked up a bottle of this TurleWax Jet Wax. So based on the instructions, I washed the car and kept it wet (I used Dawn dish soap to get rid of the old wax and to give the windows a deep clean). I then connected the Jet Wax to the hose (the bottle directly connects to the hose) and rinsed the car again to make sure all the Dawn dish soap was washed away. Then I set the Jet Wax bottle to "ON" and sprayed the stuff on one side of the car, and then worked it in with a cotton towel, as instructed, and then rinsed away any excess wax. After I applied and worked in the Jet Wax to the entire car, I just rinsed the whole car again and then dried it. When I was doing the final rinse, the water seemed to beed up very nicely and once the car was dried, the paint looked pretty great...nice and smooth like a fresh wax job and it looked very clean and shiny/reflective. Overall, I am pretty happy with it as it was extremely easy to apply and seemed to do the job well...I am just curious of how long this wax will last. Does anybody know??? I am hoping it will last for a good 3 months!

Thanks,

waynestowels, I used the hood of the vehicle to test it out. After washing the car with Dawn, I was spraying water all over the car and then rinsed the entire hood down. The water was just sheeting off the hood, the way it should without any car wax. After "applying" the Jet Wax, I proceeded to rinse the hood again and this time, the water was beeding aggressively. The water was not sheeting off the hood smoothly, as it was previously....just quickly beeding up and disappearing just like my car (I use Zaino auto polish on my G35C). The Jet Wax's results were not jaw-dropping or anything, but the paint looks clean and feels smooth to the touch, and there was solid beeding occuring all over the car as I was doing the final rinse. I just wish the wax would last for 3 months...are you serious about it lasting only a week?
Are there any 3-month-lasting car waxes that are quick and easy to apply like this Jet Wax?

Wait a second...am I misunderstanding the whole purpose of the product? My impression is that it is just an easier and quicker way to wax your car, and that after it is applied, it should do all the things that a normal car wax should do (protect against sun, water, and other elements, make the paint look shiny, and do all this while lasting for 3 months). Or is it just supposed to be a thing that makes your car look really clean after you hand-wash it??

Thanks,

Yes...

The easiest I have found is Einszett Glanz Synthetic Wax.
It is almost as easy to apply as a Quick Detailer!!! Seriously:)
Just spray it on the applicator, wipe on, wait 30-60 seconds(depending on weather conditions), then wipe off, it is really that easy and more durable than a carnuba.

Please keep us updated on the durability:)

Blasphemy!!! [whip] Sounds to me that junk is no different than the "wax" you get at an automatic car wash or the hand coin operated car washes.

I'm not aware of a substitute for a real wax job. Those companies must make a killing selling all those get-waxed-quick schemes. Have you seen that spray on stuff they're now selling (in a hair spray can)? Personally, I even think liquid waxes are a gimmick--the same real paste wax only diluted in water that takes longer to dry--but I still will use some liquid waxes. They advertise the liquids as easy-off but that's only because most people goop on way too much paste...you're supposed to put a very very light coat, then repeat...the liquid seems easier off only because it's diluted...regular paste wax would be just as easy if applied properly.

Maybe this spray product is good for times in between real wax jobs? But none of that stuff can compete with the real deal.
