Hey guys

Just wondering what you people thought were the best tyres for your E30's. Currently i have 195 Pirelli P6000s all round which have been tremendous (especially in the wet; then they're phenomenal) but are now very TYRED. Bad joke.

Your thoughts and/or experiences on what you thought were the best tyres for the job would be welcome.

PS: i dont give a shit about ride comfort or noise, just serious performance[headbang]

Ok so i got the falkens today and i love them. They stick like no other. Plus they were only 307.85 including mounted and balanced. I couldn't make them chirp on the home, but we will find out tommarow at auto X.

Thanks mate. Yeah i do want to be able to hear some tyre squealing though hey
Every time your tires squeal you are losing traction and not getting as much performance as a different tire that doesn't squeal under the same conditions. If you are serious about performance, get the best tires you can then mod the engine and drive train to deliver more power to them. If they squeal at that point there is nothing you can do except maybe modify the suspension.

I've got a set of 215/40 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires on 8.5 x 17 rims, modified suspension, and a chip, and I get serious traction. They don't sqeal. I'm happy. The only thing I don't have is a LSD 4.10. I've got the 3.93 (?) which isn't as hot. Anyone know where I can get the LSD?

It might be a 3.91. That's why I put the question mark after it. Truth is I don't remeber other than it is not a lsd and it's one size down from the 4.10.

Saw a 4.10 lsd on ebay today for $200. Might bid on it.

Mate i know what you're saying but basically i was just being a hooligan when i was saying that i wanted to hear my tyres squeal in protest. It doesn't matter how good your tyres are, you can still break their adhesion limit from time-to-time, which i intend doing since i can.

Actually, body lean has a LOT to do with the squealing - if not everything.l

When do you hear a nascar with its tires squealing? Not even when it's sliding sideways!! (yes bad example becuase I hate nascar too...)

ACTUALLY..... heh, nothing has more to do with squeal than the rubber compound its self!! you put some cheap-ass million mile snow tires on and you will break them free when slamming the door on the car.

Run R-compound hoosiers or simular, you do NOT hear noise. That is one indication, youre no longer connected to the ground, that you lose while racing type R or A's. not to mention, once they are letting loose, your traction is long gone. (there is little room for error with racing tires.)

just get some high-performance summer tires, end of conversation.

Tried to break my tires loose today. Revved up to about 4k and dumped the clutch a couple times. All I got was a couple little hops but no squealing. I know if I hit it hard with the wheel turned it'll squeal but I've never gotten it to do it straight down the road.

Pirelli makes great tires and I was happy with them when I had them on my car. But you should compare them to what is out there. Go on Tirerack.com and start looking at similar tires.. They've got good reviews and customer feedback on a lot of their tires. That's how I picked the Goodyears. Great performance plus they look awesome!

hey chesty go to your local toyo tyre dealer and purchase the new proxe-4 they just came out this early summer and they are awsome ,they have a performance rating of v&z , also have u ever heard about siping your tires? well if u have not , I shall explain. Siping is done when a blade with a certain pitch to it makes revolutions accross the tread face of your tires , from left to right what it does it creates cuts on the tire creating a better gripping surface for your tires go to lesschwab.com there is a link there with more info also it allows decreases in heat build up so a cooler tire last longer check it out make

If price and tread wear isn't a concern, I highly recommend Michelin Pilot Sport PS2, and this is the second edition. Looks are deceiving, great handling. I can take a 100 degree corner (25 MPH recommended) at over 70, not a squeal, no hint of loosing traction, just great performance! Did I mention super wet performance too.

LOL. Mate i had to laugh so hard at that! This is a beautiful thing. Those speed recommendation signs are a joke. You need at LEAST 50% more speed than they advise[headbang]

Yeah the Pilots are probably a little out of my price range but my dad's car has a set and yes, they are truly remarkable tyres.

Bridgestones seem quite good also
