Unattached rear window defrost contact

One of the rear defrosting contacts on for my '87 BMW 325i is unattached. It was working fine. I hadn't noticed it wasn't connected (soldered) until I was washing the inside of the rear window when I knocked it loose. Apparently it was merely lodged between the glass and the seal. I contacted the dealer regarding getting it re-soldered and was informed that I may have to replace the entire glass to fix the problem.

Incidentally, I tried pushing it back in between the seal and the glass and it just won't stay put. I'm have no idea how someone managed to get it stay put previously.

We're expecting our first real cold day here in lower southeastern MI and I want to be sure I can get that back window cleared.

Please help.

Sounds like it just needs re-soldered. Let me guess - you talked to a service manager?

The service manager at my local dealer told my friend that you can't bleed the brakes on the E36 yourself that you need a special machine and that if you don't use stock fluids it'll corrode the inside of the calipers. [?|]

You guessed right! I also taked to someone at an aftermarket repair shop and he said the same thing.

Would glue work? How about liquid solder? Could the process used to apply conventional solder damage my the glass? [?|]
