I just replaced the control arms on my '88 325. My question is this: It is too late in the day to get it aligned today and tonight I have to drive about 200 miles. Is this very unwise? I guess I'm looking for someone to say I'll be okay, but I'd like to know if I won't.

Thanks.

i have the same car and i just replaced the control arms last week. when i was finished the alignment was COMPLETELY out of wack and the steering wheel was turned 1/8 to the left. it would probably be wise to get it aligned before going, if you dont, anything can happen, and the tires will probably get worn real bad. it may be too late now, but good luck man.

Well, I went ahead and drove with it out of alignment. Probably drove about 300 miles. Didn't have any problems. My tires are probably worn unevenly.
My car has developed a whine that comes from the rear. When I turn the car on it is feint but the longer it runs the louder it gets. It does this wether it is stationary or moving. Any ideas?

It is bad and can cause serious lagging in power. It could either be the Inner (mounted to gas tank under panel below back seat, or the one under the edge of the chassis by the back wheel. Most of them for the E30's are interchangable.
