I ordered a new head for my 325iS and i'm going to adjust my valves before I put her on. Do I need this tool from Pelican Parts?

Valve Adjuster, All BMW Engines with Eccentric Style Valve Adjustment, Each TOL-3013 $25.50. Why is it so much money for something that just looks like a big allen wrench? I've got a ton of allen wrenched, will these work just as good?

And does anybody know where I can get a feeler gauge that's exactley .25mm? The "Deluxe Feeler Gauge" from PP is 0.038 to 0.889mm, not sure if has .25mm though.

Any other tools I might need?

ha, thats a really funy looking tool for an allen wrench. I can't imagine needing to buy it. It even has the same shape as an allen. BUt honestly i don't know.

You can buy a .25 mm feeler at any parts store. THe set should include a .25

I'd buy the feeler at a local parts store to be sure it had a .25mm.

I bought my feeler gauge at schucks auto store. I also used my own allen wrench set. However, I also gave up. That is the only thing I will ever pay a mechanic to do for me. Too much time, too difficult for me, and I hear I can get it done for 100 bucks. Which is less than minumum wage if I were to do it. All that freakin TDC crap. Well, good luck.

The part they sell is really a solid piece of metal that fits prefectly into the eccentric, with a spring designed so you can adjust the eccentric without "over-adjusting" it.

All you really need for the entire job is a stiff piece of metal (wire hanger) and a 10mm box end wrench. That's it.
