Warped rotors

Just wanted to know if the noise coming from my tires could be warped rotors. I had Yokohama tires installed in May '03 and new EBC greenstuff brake pads installed in August '03. I think my tire alignment is good. When I had my brake pads replaced, they told me I needed new rotors. The tires look great, so could it be the rotors? Let me know what you guys think. How often should we replace bmw oem rotors?

rotors should be replaced whenever they are warped or are thinner than specs allow. warped rotors are recognized by the pulsating feeling you get either from the steering wheel of brake pedal when the brakes are applied. if it's at the steering wheel then the front are warped. if you feel it at the brake pedal then the warped rotors are in the rear. if the tires are new then look to your bearings.

My rotors got warped in the SHO a few weeks ago. You'll want to take them off and "resurface" them... basically have them turned so they can be put back to specs.

If you don't replace or repair warped rotors your calipers will fail and need a rebuild or replacement. I know from expirence with my F-body when I had it.

BMW OEM rotors should be replaced once they have been worn down enough to be out of OEM specs.
