My water pump went out this weekend and I have tried every store to find a pump and it aint happening! [chair] The problem is that the aftermarket pumps for my 325E all have the same problem, the impeller is 1cm, that right 1cm, to long and it rubs on the block. Any body have a clue to help?

Where have you tried?? BAP usually has the correct stuff (alot of the times parts even arrive with BMW dealer stickers w/part numbers). If not, BMW North Scottsdale usualy marks their prices up a little less than Chapman. If you call North Scottsdale, ask for steve.

How thick was the gasket that was originally on there? i have seen different sized gaskets, so maybe if you got a thicker one, it wouldnt rub on the block.
i got my water pump at an independent bmw shop in indiana.

I know I have an e36 but I got my water pump from bavauto.com It was the exact thing I was looking for (the one with the metal impeller). So maybe you should try them.

Ok guys I just hit Chapman BMW and Sports Car Recycling and no go [bigcry] Last chance is now to order one from LASO and hope it works. I may also double up the gasket. I hope that doesn't interfear with the timing belt tensioner.
