well if you're ripping out the ac, i'm guessing you don't mind not having windshield washer. that's an easy one to remove. if you have some money..carbine fiber intake manifolds sound sweeeeeet.

Hmm, 10 lbs = 1 hp

Power steering pump and hoses.

Lots of insulation on firewall, floorboards, and in the doors.

The fuel tank can be replaced by a smaller fuel cell and it can be located to provide a better balance.

If you used a 3000 lb car and 300 hp as a bases.

A 10% reduction in weight yields the following:

11% more stopping power per lb
11% more contact patch per lb
11% more hp per lb

In addition the ride will be comparably stiffer because you have the same spring rate with fewer lbs riding on it

You will get better gas mileage .

you really don't need the steering wheel either
drive with the force

[rofl] [rofl] no, but seriously..ron knows his sh*t apparently. however, if you're looking into weight reduction, i'm guessing you wanna race...maybe autocross? in which case, you WILL want your power steering. and you may consider keeping the steering wheel. just as memorabilia, if nothing else.

Remove the dash cover, get carbon fiber trunk lid and hood, remove the headliner and all the interior panels. If you're really serious pull the glass out of the doors, although at higher speeds the drag of an open window can be more than the weight savings.
