what 17" wheels can work? E30

I want to put 17" rims on my 1991 325i I keep running into problems with the Backspacing! If I use spacers then what size is possible. I see plenty of pics of E30's with 17" rims but noone seems to be sharing the nitty gritty about what it took to get the results. If the info is known or out there please share. I want it to fit without rubbing or cutting up my tires.

I have an 86 325es and have 17's on my car.. i have holes by konig since i got it really cheap and put 25mm spacer on the back and i think 100mm in front.. i really dont know about i's but it fits on my car. if you pick a spacer make sure its a dependable manufacturer.... hope this helps
