[chair] Recently took my 02 530I to the dealer for an oil change. Noticed that some of the pixels were out on the dash, nothing major but when it was 88 degrees it looked like 38 degrees. Asked if this was under warranty for a certified car? Sure was, they replaced the entire dash unit and a control module--$1200 !!! Cost me $50 bucks. But what I really would have wanted to be fixed was the CUP HOLDERS!!!! Only in America.

Hmmmm...Sounds like you got a good deal. Where did you have it done? I am from STL (Chesterfield) and some of the pixels in my M3 are out as well. I got my car from West County BMW and wonder if that would still be under warranty.

West County also, 100K warranty, they didn't hesitate just said if it was a bulb it was not covered. Seems it must be a common problem from what i'm learning. Have 75K on the 530 and never had service II; wandered if they were going to require it but nothing was said so I just sighned the warranty papers and went on my way. See you on the 270!!!

i suppose just be thankful that your german vehicle actually has a cup holder, and other unnecessary elements like AC.

but my question is, if you are going to put one in, why half ass it?

anyway, great deal on getting the fix just by paying the deductible.

This is good news for me. On Wednesday, my 2003 530i is going to the dealer for repair. I have a ton of dead pixels on the dash and radio.
