Curiously,

Does anyone know the 0-60 spec's on Mustangs ?, I see them everywhere almost like mosquito's in summer.

I know the Cobra's are pretty fast, what about the GT's ?? does 260 HP put them quicker than the 330's ?? 325's..etc..?

Got google? [fake] [;)]

I think the new 2003 SC Cobras run around a 4.7-4.8. The 2001 GTs were around 5.9 seconds to sixty. I would expect the 260 hp. GT to be around 5.7-5.8. The 2003 Mach 1 is quoted below at 5.3. A 1998 GT, with less than 260 hp is quoted at 6.2.

http://www.car-videos.com/performance/

A recent GT 5-speed will spank a 325i in a straight line, and the 260 hp GT (2003?) should be .3-.5 seconds quicker than a 330i PP. Of course, drag racing is not everything . . .

I don't know where they get those numbers. They list a 97 NSX-T 6spd as 5.2 seconds to sixty. Motor trend got 4.9, Road and Track 5.0.

Don't forget that Mustangs are easily modifiable. Simple intake, exhaust and pulleys can make a world of difference.

THey're cheap power. Just like Camaros. Still, ever sat in one? Or even just look into the interior? That alone oughta put you off the car unless you're a high schooler. I'm talking about the V6 and even the GT tho. The Cobra has so much power, you're forgiven if you give in and buy one.

The Mustang crowd is more of the "Muscle Car" bunch, I have no problem with that, I dont always like the rock concert T-shirts etc...

I personally like a more refined & pleasurable drive...

Unfortunately the Mustang crowd is almost like the Ricin' crown....race evryone..even if it means I blow my engine or fry my clutch !! and the winner definately has the best car..( even though my "Stangs" hood scoop is unfunctional & my door handles just fell off )....lol !!!.

mustangs to me are straight line cars. i have only been beaten by mustangs that can beat me in a straight line, bring it to the twisties and i'll bring them down with authority. keep in mind i have never raced a full-on Saleen car.

The Saleen or the Cobra are the only ones (newer models) that really look good. I like many of the older model muscle car stangs. Hell, I love many of the older muscle cars from all the car manufactures.

yeah, I specifically said GM designed ones. the 300M is, well, a Chrysler and the Town Car is a Ford. The Pontiac Vibe has a decent interior, but it's a Toyota so it doesn't count either. You can say Saab is GM owned, but it's not really GM designed, just owned. You can tell it's a GM car interior b/c they all obviously share the same parts, just have a different logo stamped on them. And they all look/feel like crap compared to the competition.

The Vibe is built on the same platform and has the same engine and basic components of the Matrix. It was a joint venture between Toyota and GM.

Apparently it's a different crowd where you live, but where I live it's all 16 year old girls and boys who think they look cool in a Mustang. I myslef hate most of the newer Mustangs, sans the Cobra and Saleen. GT's and regular Mustangs can blow me.
