I tryed jacking it up on the pinch weld like on my Nissan and CRUSHED it. So I have been using my trunk jack for lifting it onto jack stand which I place under the ball joints. Is this okay?

if you're trying to do it in the front, there are 2 frame rails that are the perfect spot for a non-bmw jack AND jackstands. I wouldn't personally use any other spots. I did make the same mistake as you though, I used jackstands around that little lip thing, and it crushed it up like 1/8 inch.

After working on 3 different types of bmw chassis - I have found that they do NOT have ANY good jacking points.

yeah the frame rails are perfect, but also use a 2x4 to spread the weight a little more evenly.

keep the jack half way along the door (front) this also stops the car trying to fall forward or backwards off the jack and causing MORE damage (I learned the hard way)
