hi guys... i am sure that alot of you have gotten some really kick ass deals/finds on your cars... just out of curiosity, what is the best scenerio that i can hope for with a second hand M3 and $35,000.... in other words, what is the newest one that i can get... obviously it varies, but i am hoping that i can find a good deal privately from some guy at an almost throw away price... i know it's wishful thinking, but if in that much i can only get like a 98 M3, then i will stop my dreaming : )... i really want the newest one possible... thanks....

I think you would be better off buying a 2004 330Ci with the performance pkg. Just my .02

My opinion-

1) I would shoot for a used E-46 M3, (e-36's are sweet but 240 HP ?)

2) Watch for a used ZHP 330. Still an incredibly nice car.

But I like all the 3's, all the way back [thumb] [thumb]

E-46 M3's are just slightly stiffer feeling than 330's, The M3 is far more comfortable than a 350Z I test drove - many many people use M3's as daily drivers.

I feel comfortable in the M3/330/325. Dont get 19's or exceptionally oversized & low profile tires, words of caution if you are looking for ride comfort.

The ride of the M3 is not that bad. The Nissan 350Z is definitely stiffer and more jarring...just avoid the M3's 19" wheel option, assuming you don't plan to track it.

I just bought a 2001 M3 E46 Convertable with 20k miles for $40k. From what I have seen you could get a 20k mile m3 coupe for around 35k.. watch out for the high mile cars and remember buy as soon as possible. In the next three months m3 prices will go up by as much as 5-8 grand. Its called the winter affect.

Good luck

But the M3 still handling better than the 350Z. I really do not like the 350Z,(MrElussive the G35 Coupe is way better than the 350Z, in my opinion). You are way better off getting the M3 though. I agree, you are better off avoiding the 19'' wheel optional. Go will the 18s.[headbang]

Didnt know that. I'm thinking about getting a M3, even though its a long while from now, maybe in a year. Is the ride on the M3, with 18's, smooth like most luxury cars?

Not quite, not like say a 5 or 7 series, but a very nice and confident ride, for a car that does 0-60 in 4.8 secs its pretty comfortable imo.

I recommend you take one out, it is the best handling car I have driven, including my brothers 1995 Porsche 911.

If you are thinking of a "ultra cushy" Caddy ride - you wont get it with an M3.

Take the test drive & good luck !
