Whistle on the X3

I know I have seen a thread on this before but I couldnt find it so I am reposting it. Does anyody else hear a loud whistle when they drive 80+ MPH? I have a 2004 X3 2.5i pp. My dealer told me he hasnt heard of the problem and couldnt help me because they cant drive it that fast.

I found my answer on bimmerfest. My dealer said that they have to change the windshield.

My father works for a dealer body shop for BMW and he said that there have been some cases in where there is a loud whistling when the X3 goes over 75 MPH. My father had to replace 2 windshields on X3s due to this problem. There was no charge for the service.

I have the same problem and don't know what to do.
Also there is a noise when it rains and the car travels with 62 mph.
I thing BMW knows about this problem because some friends of mine had the some problem with X5 also.

The dealer changed my windshield and the sound is gone. Took them about 4 hours to do.

rats!!!! i took my x3 in about 3 months ago to get the whistle fixed but now it back. the only difference is, i hear it at around 98 mph. sometimes ill hear it at 80 depending on the head wind.
