Maybe you guys(or girls) would know what is causing my wiper on the driver side to knock whenever it comes to the upright position it sounds like it is connecting with the edge of the windshield molding. Any ideas?

is the knocking sound coming from the blade section or more from the point where they are mounted under the hood? could be the link between driver and codriver wiper. we once had that problem on another car and it started with knocking, too. in the end it got loose and the wipers did not work anymore. just get the link reestablished and you're good.

Well, they probably had to remove the wiper arms in order to replace the windshield. When they put the arms back on, they probably replaced the driver's side arm a spline or two off from where it should have been, so it now contacts the windshield molding when the wiper is at its highest position. Same thing happened when my dad's S-10 pickup was repainted under paint recall at the Chevy dealer. I'd take it back to them and make them fix it.

Isnt there a way I could fix it myself? The people there smelled bad and I couldnt understand the german they were speaking to well....I think they were polish or something. Let me know if you have more info.

The people there smelled bad! ROFL. I remember that well from when I lived in Germany. [;)]

I'm sure you probably can, but I have no idea how the wiper arms attach to the shafts on your car. Go take a look at them or maybe someone else who knows can help ya. I know that on my dad's truck (as well as on my Camaro) they just lightly press onto the shafts and are held with a funky retaining clip. I think there's a nut that holds the arms on the shafts on my '87 325 - maybe your 5er is the same way.
