Well, soon the boot lid will be having the rust removed and repainted.
I dunno weather to leave the lip spoiler on, or take it off.

For the time being, im leaning towards leaving it on.

Comments.

While the e30 does look good without the spoiler, I personally prefer to have it...of course I'm also a fan of having it painted. I've owned 2 e30's, one with the lip and one without and the lip just seems to add some what of a finishing touch.

just my 2 cents

if you keep it black it matches your bumper
If i were to paint it i feel as though what frolf said is right... I'm hoping a body kit will find me for the right price (plastic painted the same as the car) then i'd maybe paint it the same colour as the body. got any pics od the cars with euro bumpers and painted lip spoiler.
All 2's cents appreciated!

I dunno, as I can see in your photo with the spoiler on, there is a bit of warping going on. Could this be due to the unprotected (by paint) plastic being eaten away UV light from the sun? As I scan through some of my favourite pics of E30's, only one has that spoiler on the back... all the rest are nice and smoothe (execpt the M3's of course).
Here are some of my favourite... Euro plastic bumpers, no spoiler:

Yeah, so if you're going to keep it on, paint it to protect it.

kinda off-topic, but what exactly do you guys mean by plastic euro bumpers? All of the ones you show seem to just have the standard 88-91 bumpers. The euro ones I know of are like doughnut's and don't poke out like the US 84-87 ones.

The boot has bends in it that will require panel beating [V] which is why the spoiler is warped and is the reason for the rust as it lifted the paint.
I have a feeling that at some point the boot lid was replaced as the original was fully rooted? i cannot see any parts (from inside the boot or out) of crash damage, i spose it will be a one of those "never to be answered" questions and needs fixing regardless :(

good on ya scotty, i really love those pictures of the e30's without the lip spoiler, i dunno what to do im 50/50 now LOL!
