hey guys - quick question - has anyone ever had the following situation:

* hit a bump and the steering wheel "wobbles"?

it's happened a few times now over big bumps and I'm kind of freaked out by it. when I hit a bump, the steering wheel wobbles like it was hit with something - sort of like hitting a ball with a baseball bat the wrong way. It's a shuddering motion, not a normal suspension bump...any input would be greatly appreciated - thanks. I've got a 2000 528i 5-speed sport...

check-out the bushings on the upper and lower arms. if either one is damaged, replace them in pairs.
the other possible cause is uneven tread-wear of your front tyres due to misalignment.

My 01 525 had same problem and they replaced the upper and lower arm after my 3rd visit because the tech FINALLY had it happen to him, previous to that they could never duplicate problem. Now its like a new car.
