I'm gonna lease an M3 in a week and it takes 2 months to be delivered, so i will get it in august. Is it worth waiting for the 2005 m3 which will be here in october, or will there be virtually no difference? Thanks!

There is no 2005 M3 and why on earth would you lease an M3 and pay >$1k a month???

That comes out to with downpayment about $40k in 3 years for 36k miles on a car you wont own which you still have to take care of. The M3 coupe cost around $50k equipped, IMHO you're better off buying it or financing it.

I could swear they were retireing the M3.... Let me double check that, and 800 a month and 1000 are not very far off (whats your downpayment? 5k?). Actually people lease to write off mileage and/or drive a new car every few years, not because they can't afford the car (They usually finance for that).

800 and 1000 is a big difference in the long run, you save yourself a lot of money in 3 years, i think a good 7200. actually 800 a month is without a downpayment, i might put a 4 or 5k down payment and it might drop to about 650 a month maybe less.
BTW - my dealer even said the 2005 is coming in october.

Zeratul, I highly doubt there will be any difference but even so I suggest you just wait for the 2005. This is unless you are getting a good deal on a 2004.

How long is your lease term going to be?

IMO, I'd always want the newer year model just makes me feel better! :)

Seems like you are doubting yourself about the '04, Just go for the '05!

I wouldn't buy a car from BMW manhattan... they're crooks and a whole load of people have had MANY problems with them including me. They all center around the service department, scratches, shody work, loaners with flat spare tires. They don't know wtf they're doing I'd rather pay more money elsewhere before I screw myself over a 2nd time. Goodluck.

I go to BMW of Bayside.... they're not far and they got great Service. If you want the sales guy's name who gave me a good deal on my car let me know.

Off topic...

If you're 19 years old and your old man is leasing an M3 for you, who cares what year you get! In fact, get the car NOW before he changes his mind. Take what you can get and say thank you!

Good on ya for getting a nice ride at an age where you can enjoy it to its fullest. Man, I thought I had it good when Grandma bought me a $2200 '85 Olds Cutlas Ciera when I was 18 :) (back in '90).

That's interesting. I just got back from my local BMW dealer last night, and I went there to order an '05 M3. He told me that BMW will not make an '05 M3, and that the next new M3 will probablly be an '07 M3 with the new body style and V8 engine. This car won't be available until late 2006.

Lease

My 2004 Imola M3 Cabriolet was 3K off sticker, at a BMW lease price of 913/mo for 3yrs with no downpayment. It came with 19's, xenon and heated seats. They threw in window tint and rubber winter mats for kicks. After the tax write-off of a lease, that's not bad. I picked it up within a week of buying, and when I was there last, they had several left. BMW of Oyster Bay, Long Island, NY.

Okay my M3 is financed at 1466 a month for 48 months. Leasing just isnt worth it. I want to keep the best car in the world when I am done with it. Thats like going out with Heidi Klum or Laetitia Casta and having to give her back.
