I am about to buy a 2004 X3, do you have to always run premium fuel?

Premium Fuel

I recently took European Delivery on an X3 and noticed that 91 Octane Fuel isn't really considered Premium in Europe. It was what we would call Regular and maybe in some cases mid-range. BMW is just manufacturing engines to the European Octane standards which happen to be Premium in the U.S. That was my observation anyway.

Yesterday I picked up my X-3 and the dealer told me to use 93 octane. Is 91 enough?

Congrats, yeah it will be fine. I've been using 91 Octane on my M3 for the past few years without any issues.
