The BMW X comes complete with trailer stability control, integrated in the DSC control system. Unique in the automotive industry, this innovative system recognises that the X is towing a trailer as soon as the a plug is inserted into the power socket at the rear. Should the trailer begin to sway while being towed, all four wheels of the BMW X are braked automatically and engine output is cut until the trailer's motion returns to normal.

It's a neat idea but is it really necessary? I mean, how much of a flog can you be if you need all this s*** anyway!

I agree and depending on what is causing the trailer to sway application of the brakes instead of a slight throttle response may have a negative effect?
