******* Transmission Problems To Come******* No Warnings, And Bmw America Will Not Stand Behind Repair. Make Sure You Get An Extended Warranty. My Reverse Gear Just Suddenly Went Out @ 60k Mile On A 01 4.4i. NO LIGHTS CAME ON OR FLUID LEAKS, JUST BURNT OUT.

BMW AMERICAN NEEDS MAKE A RECALL AND FIX THE PROBLEM. THERE ARE CURRENLTY 46 TRANSMISSIONS ON BACK ORDER FROM GERMANY. MY X5 HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP WAITING FOR OVER A MONTH NOW.

ANY OTHERS OUT THERE WITH TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS OUT THE BLUE?

Transmission problems

I put my 2003 X5 in the shop at 15,000 miles to fix a transmissiom probelm. The transmission wouldn't engage for 10 or 15 seconds after a cold start. BMW said that they had to send the computer to California for reprogramming. The problem is a lot better, but it is still an intermitant problem. BMW needs to stand behind this.
