You All Would Be Impressed

I picked up my customer on Friday for lunch, hadnt seen him in several months, he walks out admiring my car and says, wow when did you get that........anyways...we talk a few minutes and tells me he has a 1991 525i Series with 318,000 miles.........of course I am astonished at the number of miles........remember I never know what my customer drives, they only know what I drive......our whole lunch was about BMW's and this forum I tell him about plus joining BMWCCA.........when we get back he shows me his BMW and the great shape it is in..........his goal is to get to 500,000 miles and then park it ......I was impressed at the lack of repairs his car has needed with that many miles.........he has one problem tho........his interior lights do not work and it is not a fuse......I told him not to worry, somebody on this forum will know the answer......he is suppose to get on the forum next week and see what it is that is making me so knowledgeable about BMW's..........now I know your laughing at my knowledge........but to somebody else, I have a lot more than normal......that torque steer gets them every time.......we became like bosom buddies all because of a BMW........cool huh.....

So none of his interior lights work? Or just the dash? If its the interior light, can he turn it on manually?

could be grounding out that circuit somewhere or could even be that either he has the dash light dimmer all the way down or the dimmer may not work. Its a series connection to the dimmer and if its failed then no interior lights will work.

318K Miles is impressive. But he needs to shoot for 2 MILLION+ miles before he parks it! There is a guy who has a Volvo 1800 with over 2 MILLION miles on it. No I am not full of crap, you can find links to him all over the net. Here is a Volvo ad when he hit 1.75 million -

Says he has changed the oil over 600 times! He drove into Times Square this year and rolled over 2M. He is now working on 3 Million miles! Talk about having an iron butt!!!
