I drove a Z4 as a loaner car last weekend and I was not very impressed. I used to have a Miata that was more solid than the Z4. When you shut the doors the glass rattled inside. It did have more power than the Miata and more room. I will admit it was much better with the top down. I guess for much more money I expected much more car.

My Z4 has zero rattles or noises, and is solid as a rock. You should take a new one for a drive, preferably a 3.0. I've logged quite a few miles in Miatas, and there is no comparison. I enjoy the Miata, it is a very well made car, but the Z4 is superior in every way. They are, as you noted, quite a bit more money, but they are more suited for everyday driving than the Miata.

"A Z4 ME"

[wave] Guys...

"My Z4 has zero rattles or noises, and is solid as a rock..." (quote, Zorro.")

I just traded in an '04 330i 'ZHP' for a Z4 and I love it. It's a lot more fun crusing around 'Skin City' in the 'Z.' [driving2]

With the 3.0 engine and the 5-speed [Steptronic] tranny it hauls [shake]

The only major difference between the 'ZHP' & the Z4, that I notice, is the ride of the Z4 is a little rougher and can be annoying when changing lanes, for example, and
driving over the reflectors (or lane seperators) in the roadway.

With ALL the sunny/clear days we see in Vegas, I'll put up with a few bumps in the road to drop the top and enjoy the view... [thumb]

My Z4 feels quite solid. 2005/3.0/6-speed/sport/premium/xenon/audio. Hard top coming Friday. My first car ever was a Miata and sadly I don't really remember how it drives... but hey - I got the Z4 cause it's fun, convertible, and safer than many cars on the road today.
