I'm actually trying to sell these wheels to a rather clueless 325i owner. From what I have gathered, 1900 325i's have 4x100 bolt pattern which these wheels haves. But could there be fitment issues with the offset? I'm not sure what the offset is (none of the websites that sell them mention it). Can i measure the offset mysef with a tape messure? How would i do this?

Thanks for any help

wow thats way too complicated, i have no idea whats going on there. I cant make sense of those diagrams since tires are still on wheels
What, you can read right? I mean all you have to do is read a paragraph and take the measurements, it is not rocket science! You did ask how to measure offset didn't you, well you have the answer...

What dameter and width are the wheels? I'll assume 17x7, in which case the correct offset is ET20 or ET25.

The required offset for a specific car alters with wheel width. e30 stock offset is ET25. You won't fit ET 45 wheels on without spacers - big ones.

The offset will be stamped into the inside of the wheel. Usually a number with ET in front of it. Post up all the numbers on the back of the wheel.

Graham is correct in that the ET is a positive offset and you need to keep it as close to stock as possible. Your offset determines a lot of the suspension geometry of the car. Here is another link to the complete information I was trying to get you to see: RaceandRaod.com

the wheels are ET + 42. I took a closer look and it was stamped on the back of the wheels. I just didnt notice before cause they were so dirty.

is 42 close enough?

42 offset will hit the front struts. Will also hit the chassis on full lock. You will need around 20mm spacers and longer stud bolts for them to fit e30 (assuming a 7" wide wheel). Rears "may" fit but they will be hidden well inside the guards and look terrible. Again, spacers needed.

Spacers are not legal in some jurisdictions.

I just can't picture those rims on a E30... not to say they're ugly, but I don't think you'll like them once they're on the car. Just my opinion.
i dont own a bmw. I own these wheels and I'm in the process of trying to sell them. An e30 owner contacted me asking if they would fit, so i came here for answers, which apparently is no (without wheel spacers)

thanks for all the great info guys. I'm out
