[werd] ! Some of the best money can buy. I have the old Klipsch Scala's and Bose 901's with my Carver system. Wouldn't trade for anything.
It's all relative to the person. Bose is not even close to Klipsch. It's like a Honda Accord and a 540. Both are good but Klipsch is a whole different class dude. Most people do not know much about them because they are a high-end product and the mid-range and high-end lines are only carried in high-end stores that many people never visit. Not a Best Buy product for sure.

I am still unshure of the horn type. If I were to get Klipsch all I could afford is the RF-5 range, I cant afford the RF-7.

Here is the break down
>>>>>>>>>Klipsch>>>>>>Infinity>>>>>>Polk
Towers>>>>$1,050>>>>>>$770>>>>>>>$1,130
Centers>>>>$820>>>>>>>$620>>>>>>>$700
Surrounds>>$820>>>>>>>$620>>>>>>>$700
Sub>>>>>>>$960>>>>>>>$600>>>>>>>$600
Toatal>>>>>$3,650>>>>>>$2,610>>>>>>$3,130

Here are the three side by side. Left Infinity Center Klipsch Right Polk
As for looks: Infinity I would leave it without the grill but it is vinyl. Kilpsch is also vinyl and I would keep the grill on. The Polks looks great either way and are the only ones made of real wood.

Unacceptable, coyotefreek. The lower-end Polk Audio models aren't worth the loot, neither are Infinity speakers. Infinity charges a lot of $$$ and you don't get what you pay for. Perhaps go to a high-end audio store and tell them your price range and you will end up with higher-end speakers for less money.
It's okay to be unsure of the horn design of the Klipsch speakers...go to the store and listen to them for yourself and you should be a happy man. [:D]

The top of the line polks are several thousand more, cant afford them. The polks shown are #2 not the lower end. It seems everyone here likes the Klipsch, a store right near me has a listening room with them so I will listen to them tomorow.

Little known fact: Harman Kardon, Infinity, JBL, Becker, Lexicon, and Mark Levinson are all owned by harman international. That is why in most cars the "premium" speakers come from one of those companys, the only other common one is Bose.

I wounder why people don't talk about BOSE here?

They make consumers feel like they are the best... but in reality this is not so? [confused]

I never even heard of half of brands you named here. [???1]

Push, Bose is a pretty solid company. A lot of consumers say they are overrated but that is not completely true. Their Acoustimass line of speakers is truly great...those little cube speakers that they sell. If you have ever listened to them, they get surprisingly loud while staying surprisingly clear and their sound is very clean and rich. But as for their floor-standing speakers, and most other speakers they offer, their performance is not impressive. Bose seems to be more about producing good sound when it comes ot classical music and jazz. Bu when it comes to explosions, dialogue, and other movie effects, only their Acoustimass line of products is good, and even those little cube speakers have their limits.

coyotefreek, when you go to listen to the Klipsch speakers, bring one of your favorite audio CD's or DVD movies and have them play it for you at the store through the Klipsch speakers. This way you can determine if you really like the sound coming out of the Kipsch's or not. And as I said it before, I you will be VERY impressed.
As for home theater receivers, have you ever checked out marantz? They are a nice high-end company without being too much money. Our home theater features a marantz receiver and we have been very happy with it....its performance is solid and it has a lot of nice features.

I don't my stereo equipment from Best Buy. What makes you think I believe Bose are better than Klipsch? What makes you believe I buy s#it from Best Buy. I am not "most people. You need to read the post before assuming anything.

[???1] You did not like what I said about Klipsch? Unless I am not sure what your [werd]
was indicating in your response to my message. You do not like them but you also have them. [???1] Or you just did not like the way I said he should at least check them out first. [???1]

You do not. I have 2 Sony receivers and have purchased a lot of stuff from Besy Buy. I was just going with his budget of $10,000.00 which gets you some nice high-end stuff. The thing about Internet based stuff is you don't get the interaction and non-verbal stuff.

It is like what would I do if I had $10 million all at once and saying man I sure would never drive that piece of crap 330i. I am probably not making myself clear but the talk here I think is more like for 10k I sure would never buy that crap at K-Mart more than it is putting the K-mart stuff down. [wave]

I wouldn't buy any of the newer line of Bose products. The old Bose speakers were of a higher quality when they were in the high end market, but when they started to mass produce and build speakers for the general (low end) market and the quality suffered dramatically. The older Bose speakers were very well built and sounded very good.

Re-read the post. I love Klipsch. They are one of the best speakers made. I do and always will own a set. What makes you think I don't like them? I never once said, hinted, or made any statement of the sort. I believe you are misunderstanding me.

People use the [werd] symbol when they are in agreement. Basically stating they feel the same way (you took the word/werd out of my mouth sort of thing). It's an old slang statement of agreement. I believe we are on the same page when it comes to Klipsch speakers. They rule!

No problem man. I thought we were on the same page. I would't trade those speakers for anything. My Bose are the old 901's. They are made much better than the newer ones. I have them hanging (4 of them) and the Scalas are the main speakers with sub and center. Awsome sound. It goes so well with the Carver system.
