That wasn't a very nice thing to say to Big Daddy. His car can whoop on you- Remember that.

Subjectively, I don't think you can feel the difference between the two engines. When looking for my Z3 coupe, I test drove both the 2.8 and 3.0. I honestly couldn't feel the difference in power between the two, and if anything, really enjoyed the 'torqueness' of the 2.8 over the 3.0. Of course, I might just be trying in vain to justify my choice. Price, of course, put me over the edge in the end- the '00 2.8 cost me nearly $3,000 less than the 3.0, and had 15K fewer miles despite being 1 year older. $3,000 for 25 bhp? No way.

So if all else is equal (mileage, condition etc), I'd go for the 2.8 and throw on a Dinan cold-air intake and maybe some performance software. You'll save money in the process and gain some custom/tuner cache....

Or get Ford Conversion Van with some lounge chairs and a chimney. It would be like highschool again. Wicked...

I am not sure what you are referring to as not a nice thing to say. I am sure you failed to do your home work regarding his car whooping on me. Had you studied you would have known that my first Z3 was the 2.8, as my avatar now indicates I now have a 98 Dinan M Roadster, so I am not sure what "he" is driving that will "whoop" me. Besides regarding my 2.8 post all I was pointing out was that the wider track was available in 97 with the 2.8, the only I-6 option available at the time, but I forgive you.

P.S. Thanks Kirby good article and your "Grown up Opinion" is right on!

Big Daddy, you've brought nothing to this post. Joking not joking doesn't matter. The focus of this board is about BMW's. You talk about wasting time stop wasting mine. Fillup someone else post about non topic points.
Sorry for the misunderstanding, Big Daddy, I was referring to Troy's antagonizing comment to you earlier, and that YOUR can whoop on his....definitely not the other way around....

Troy McClure................we have no place on our forum for people that insult or criticize our members and or moderators. You think getting high and driving is a "cool" past time.........cool do it on someone elses site. Maybe you should invest in a bicycle instead of a car, at least that way when you are high and wreck you don't kill some innocent bystander. If you really are 55.............grow up already!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the life advise. I thought this was a BMW forum. Could you also advise me on religion, relationships and my taxes too? Why don’t we be American’s here and not punish free speech joking or not.

Ok I read this post and thought about not saying anything but then again I think i will put my two cents in....
Am I mistaken or is this site in the business of flaming others? I mean the original comment made by Troy Mclure "was" tasteless and maybe out of line "but" I didnt think that he was being to serious at all....If you read back the "responses" given were definitely inciteful and not very....diplomatic....Not fair in my personal opinion....I mean state your personal opinion and leave it alone...I mean if i wrote something everyone disagreed with and everyone started saying things like "I would beat the "bleep" out of him if I ever met him" I would give you my friggin' address! I am sure most of us on here have said things before that are NOT very tasteful........and notice he even tried to change the subject and certain indivduals couldnt or wouldnt leave well enough alone! Anyway this is just an opinion...so I tell you please dont even think of flaming me...I live in the home of BMW, Porsche, Audi, and MB so trust me a good convo is just around the corner and I wont lose any sleep....

What you are not aware of Marc is that Troy from the beginning decided to PM me personally attacking me with profane vulgar abusive language, threatening me and belittling this site and its members. For his failure to follow the "Terms of Service" and other guidelines his account was closed.

that's too bad that some of THOSE out there choose to be BMW enthusiasts. there was another board that i used to read(might've even been this one?) where buttheads would use images of drug related items and glorify with euphoric tales of their use in the posts. shortly after that became the norm for the posts, and i quit reading that site, another BMW channel branched off/popped up. wonder if that's where they went to? hey, been there done that, but having LIVED long enough to grow up i now understand that most don't appreciate references to such activity. from my own experience, anyone owning a BMW and going down that path in life can only be an ametuer, there's no way i would've ever owned a BMW and kept going that way much less actually lived to tell about it. thanks Big Daddy, you had quite a bit of patience through the whole thing, can't say that i would've...

Thanks for the compliment. I have seen too many lives destroyed by the all mighty weed and just do not understand the fascination with it?
I thought I was the only one that didnt understand the fascination....Granted I tried it two or three times to come to the same conclusion: I like to be in control of myself! So anything like that my mind instantly fights off....thereby ruining any chance I have of losing those brain cells!...(probably why I drink in moderation too!)....Just dont understand what the big deal is..didnt feel that good anyway.....

Oh yeah arent we a little bit off topic too??? [offtopic]

I never really saw the big deal of driving high. Around my area, tons of kids love to get high and they always drive around in that state of mind, and they seem to do it fine...it is like the norm here in NJ, one I do not partake in but one that does not bother me much. Even worse, I have a friend or three who actually prefer driving tipsy/intoxicated (from alcohol). I don't give them a lecture about it, I just never ever get in their vehicles!!

The other day my brother picked up one of those small alcohol breathalyzers from the Sharper Image for me...now at parties where people are drinking, I just pass it around and people can see for themselves if they are good to drive or not.

Essentially, I'm nobody's parents, but a lot of people really need to grow up.

I drove through your area 4 times since january and I wasn't high.

Was I supposed to be? I'm confused. With the traffic around there maybe you are.
