Hey I finally got back to this thread. Yes my 330cic is Mystic Blue. but, boy it looks just like the M3 blue. You just don't see this color on any other type of vehicle. This gets us lots of looks.

I don't like the new look either....interior or exterior. The E46 looked like a much better built machine....very sleek, sporty and manly. I was thinking about the new M3 for next year but after seeing the new shape, I think I will go with the E46 body style M3. Let's face it, the car looks like a round middle aged mom's car. I would dread taking it on a track and I refuse to even test drive it. I still love bmw but I would look at the infiniti or new audi before I would consider buying the E90

I recently purchased my first BMW and love it. I have always had a passion for them since my mom bought her 1987 325es in the early 90s. I loved how BMW kept up the same basic exterior design until recently,ie semi-boxing, quad lights etc. But the new model is completely different and I despise it. I think what bothers me the most, however, is that BMW had to mess up a perfectly good style. Just a thought but they may also be one reason a lot of us don't like it.

Thats just my 2 cents

BMW "You'll get used to it!"

I love that line, and couldn't be more true. You shouldn't have to get used to a car design, it should jump out and grab you from the start. A great car makes you say, "Wow, I have to have one of those!" Not, "Well, it's ok, maybe it will grow on me."

Maybe with a Chevy, but not a BMW.

Thanks a lot Bangle, you Deutche bag!

Remember that back in the day, cars were just mad ugly. The E36 was not a good-looking BMW so it was easy to make the E46 look amazing when it first came out. The E46 is a great-looking car and it's pretty freakin hard to make a great-looking car even better looking. I think the new 3-Series is instantly nice, but not as sporty-looking as I would want...even still, I'd love to drive one.

I wish I had a dollar for every time that line was used by a BMW salesman. I was seriously looking at an '05 545, and that's exactly what the salesman told me. $60K for a car that I have to get used to. I don't think so.

E90 is designed by Joji Nagashima apparently

Other BMWs are designed by:

Joji Nagashima: E36 3 series, Z3, E39 5 series

Boyke Boyer: E38 7 series

Klaus Kapitza: E31 8 series

Geoff Velasco: X3 (Designworks)

Chris Chapman: X5 (Designworks)

Anders Warming: Z4 (Designworks)

Henrik Fisker: Z8 (now with Aston)

Kevin Rice: new 1 series

Erik Goplen: E46 3 series (Designworks/USA)

David Arcangeli: E60 5 series

Adrian Van Hooydonk: E61 6 series, E65 7 series.

Bangle is more of the head director of design I'm sure his influence is all over the place though.

"E90 is designed by Joji Nagashima apparently" Finally somebodyelse other that me found this out. I heard of that for a while now here in Tokyo. That's why now we have a Japanese car with a BMW Engine "GREAT". I can find a car that looks just the same from mitsubishi or The Toyota Mark X for halft the money. [rofl] and with better interior

As the driver of a second generation 3 series E30, to me the best one yet. I have to disagree with some of you guys. The E46 was a gorgeous car we all know that her looks were stunning, however I feel that is only a matter of time until we "learn" to accept the E90. And thats just it, the E90 should not requre for BMW enthusiast to learn to accept the new 3 series. It should have been a smoth transformation from the E46 to the E90 just like it was back a couple generations ago from the E36 to the E46. To me BMW seems lost . Whatever happend to "the ultimate driving macine" where style follow function now it seems more like the ultimate in software machine. Lets get back to basics were style follows function the E30 [bmwdance]
I might sound ignorant, but can some one tell me what ZHP is?

I'm disappointed in the styling. In comparison to interior design, I feel like this design most resembles "contemporary" and "modern" whereas BMW has traditionally gone with a more classy and classic approach ... while still keeping with the times of course. I loved my E46 and am looking to pick up an E46 M3 when I get the $$. I just don't see the E90 as a car I ever want to own ... but then again this model may eventually grow on me. I was impressed with the fact that the 330xi has the same ride height as the 330i, last model had about an inch difference in height which I hated.
