Well, Just as everything starts to go right with the car. My temp gauge pegs out and the top rad hose springs a leak. I fixed the hose but my temp gauge rides between halfway and red. Sometimes it bounces. Anybody else have this prob or is it just my ride?? [?|]

yeah mine started out like that.... now the taps are getting harder casue its so tempermental. I had to replace both my dash lights becasue i gave it taps while they were too hot i guess.

My guage bounces all the time. I have to pull it out. I hear you can solder somehting in the back of the guage to fix it. Haven't done it yet though. Too cold out side.

If it is just a loose wire behind the gauge then that is an easy fix. I work in a truckshop so I can pull the car in after work and work on it in a heated garage. One of my bene's..

texas heat aint nothin, try the same temps with 75-90% humidity, thats bad stuff. it gets humid enough up here to make the concrete floor sweat and make it slippery.

Yeah the dash light that illuminates my tacho (right-side) quite often goes out and i have to tap the top of the dash to get it back on again. It's no biggie but I do like things to work properly...

My dash lights are fine, It is just that the temp gauge sometimes bounces for No reason.
I am thinking of installing an aftermarket fan on a switch so I can cool the radiator at the flick of a switch. Also does anyone make an aluminum radiator for the E30? Joe

On my cluster , my dash lights never workd unless i wiggled the connectors at back. every guage worked fine tho. Then i took the cluster out to fix that problem. I tried soldering the connector pins in tighter, as they had cracked away from the solder with age. Now my cluster illuminates but my speedo stopped working!! It works when it feels like and thats almost never. it seems to like long trips tho. thats when it starts working.

Yeah solder that releases and cracks away from its contacts seems to be a problem with those BMW cluster... i reccomend trying to resolder (if you are good at it) and if that don't work, order a new cluster new if you got the $$$ or just from ebay.

on my 318iS it takes forever to warm up in the mornings, i dont get heat till i am at school. I dont think the problem is with the heater, my car just doesnt warm up, the heat doesnt work untill my temp is out of the blue, and it just takes FOREVER to get out of the blue so.... if any one knows a solution to this or if it is just normal leme know

I had the same problem in my car. I took the gauges out and tightend the nut on the back of the gauge panel that held the temp gauge in. No more bouncing.
