Cars arnt dead till they are crushed
Other than new headlights, some aerodynamic changes to the front spoiler, skirts, and rear, and a few other minor changes, the current NSX (re-design expected any time between now and next year, specs not confirmed) is essentially the same as the 1997-on 3.2 liter six speed and the original 1991, which is and was a supercar in the same way the BMW M1 is and was a supercar.
There are also some miconceptions about the NSX price and performance. A new one can be had for $80k, but recently there was a sick lease deal ($799 a month). However, most of the approx. 8000 NSX in the US are early cars that trade in the $28-35k range. I get sick of people quoting $30k 13-year-old NSX performance data and lamenting a $90k sticker price.
Also understand that the NSX is considerably faster at high speeds than its 0-60 time belies, particularly for the 5-spd cars. The 3.2/6spd coupe runs a 4.5 0-60 mph and high 12 second quarter mile stock. Too bad most (approx. 98%) of those cars are targas, which have less structural rigidity and extra weight, and thus run 4.8/13.1.
On a road course they are a match for many cars.
