After a search on google for "subaru wrx quarter mile time", this is what I came up with.

Another choice would be the lancer evo. They are just as fast as the wrx sti.
You could smoke many bmws in that thing, even an M5. AND they dont cost over 70 thousand dollars.
The only thing you will not have is the interior build quality...But both of them are all wheel drive so they handle really good

i agree about performance, but i have heard that it may not be the most durable car.....isnt there a problem with the transmissions/gears???? I think i read that some wrx owners have "lost" a gear, or the transmission just shits out....I.E.....you cant shift into 1st unless you are completely stopped. Also, the gears have seemed a little spaced out, as you could do 120 mph in 4th!

WRX pushes too much and is a dog from a roll.....
Look at a couple MR cars before buying an AWD pushing machine.....NSX, MR2 turbo or Spyder, Elise.....those cars are much better performers and have a performance ceiling much higher than the boxy 4-door...Scooby trannies blow chunks too....Nissan's trannies are far better Even a 350Z would be a better deal and looks 1000 times better than Scooby and handles MUCH better

nice insight. my problem is that i only tested a WRX and none of the other models. for what i can say is that the MR2 is not considered at all, ugly as rarely anything else. however, the WRX and the direct competitor EVO are in track tests of some car mags always under the top 5-10 rankings. that's gotta come from somewhere.
for racing i don't know as i don't race but for the street i'd love to have one.

Hey "QuickCivicGuy" how did you ever get that type of performance from a Civic. You must have dumped a TON of cash in it. They are only 4's and at best 115 HP. They are a true economy car. Some guy in one wanted to race me and it was just too sad, he was like tractor trailer lengths behind me within seconds. Just corious, because this is like the ultimate conservative economy car, with NOTHING performance wise in mind in the design.
