I went to the show last night...
...the Anaheim one like CoyotoFreak. I don't know... I seem to be a little disappointed with the current 3. I respect it enormously, however, when I got it, it just didn't feel up to the quality standands that mine has. I know... mine is almost 20 years old and what not, but the build quality of the E46(?) was good, just the feel of it wasn't pleasing to me. The cabrio was a different story, the sedans are what disappointed me.
The Mazda 6 was a HUGE let down to me. Since I am partial to Mazdas as well. All the magazine raves about it, I sat in the car for a couple seconds and I thought... hmm... "It feels very Ford,... oh.. there's a Ford bit there, well that's FLIMSY... "
Although, I do like the new 5er and the X5. I loved the X5, it by far is the most COMFORTABLE suv I've ever been in. My brother's Discovery has nothing on this car. I could fall asleep in seconds if I wanted to. Haha. I found the driving position of the WRX very good, but space was minimal. I thought it was kinda weird that the back seat of the WRX was a lot more pleasing than the back seat of the 330i. Heh...
That SL was phenomenal. I'm not sure if it's because I was looking forward to sitting in the car or what, but $120,000.... well worth it for an SL... although I couldn't afford it with my life. The C Class sedan has better space, IMO, than the 330i, but quality was definatly much more poorer than the 3. I'd most likely get a 330i anyway, but sitting in the C-Class gave me that extra push. The ML has the most ergonomically odd driving position/envirionment I'd ever experienced. The backseats were a little too deep and one touch of the cupholder and it broke. Oh Daimler-Chrysler what have you done?
Honda's were just a bore, so were the Acura's... the MDX had much better build quality than the ML, and more pleasing cabin aesthetics. The Infiniti M45 was the most comfortable sedan out of the whole show. The driving position was perfect, the rear seat was cavernous and I had nothing to gripe about it. Ok, maybe the angle of the steering wheel was a little off but after driving a BMW for a while, with the angled wheel, he other steering wheels feel odd.
Volvo's S60R was a joy. If you don't put the backseat into account, there's loads of space and the gear-shifter was cool to look at and play with. Clutch feel was nice on it too. All in all, I liked this years show, I'm looking forward to the LA on in Jan. But eh, I was just dissapointed with some cars. It's like WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? Haha...
...ok no more meaningless opinions from me. Now you have throw your rocks and spears, whatever you have for me after this...
Heh...
