any m5 that u get will be expensive to maintain...

if i were u....and i had to drive ppl around in a city,
i'd have my priorities straight
a. comfort for the customer
b. fuel mileage for me
c. making a good impression
don't want to pull up in an m5 - makes u look like a rich dude =]

so with that in mind, i'd get a nice lincoln or something BIG and
comfy for my clients...also i'd be worried about putting miles on
the car ... they'd be hard miles too...stop and go traffic is the worst...

bmw m motors are meant to be revved a lot and not poked about
in the city...let me clarify for the ignorant masses...
when a motor putts around at low rpm u get a lot of carbon
build up on the valves...this is not good for the motor...
city driving (stop and go) heats the engine, heats all gaskets seals
everything and puts a lot of wear on tranny syncros and other
parts....esp if u can't drive a stick well, u'll put tons of wear on
motor/tranny mounts and clutch.....stop and go in the city is the
worst kind of mileage u can put on a car (besides maybe racing it)

m5's are expensive to maintain...

don't buy an m5 for ferrying (spel?) customers

and you'll look like you know what your doing.
LoL, I like that. But I have to agree that if you will be driving people around the E39 is best choice. A E34 M5 is more for boy racers, not for business...its hot [pray]

M-5 Commuter Car

I use my M-5 as a commuter car, and I enjoy the heck out of it. Its a means of an escape to just drive and knowing that you have 400hp to play with before getting home and doing the wifeys list. As for the gas milage, why have an M if your worry about fuel... [driving]
