The interior of the E60 was wnough to turn us off and resulted in us buying one of the last E-39's. Not only did we get a killer deal, but the interior is simply gorgeous, unlikle the E-60's.

We saved about $13K, but really missed-out on the E-60's better handling & performance with the 6-speed auto ( I WAS going to get teh SMG).

Perhaps in 3-4 years the interior will be fixed p & the I-drive made a bit more user-friendly (Like the Audi's). Then I'll get the perfected version

Everybody will have thier own opinions on the E60's styling, that's all well and good. But what is really gonna sell everybody is driving an E60 w/ the sport package. The active steering is pretty sweet, but the think I like the most so far is the Active Roll Stabilization. It was inrtoduced on the E65 7-series, and on the E60 it greatly improves the handling. If you get a chance to drive one in an open lot or on a twisty road, take it. That car handles better than you think it will, puts the E39 to shame in my opinon.

Cosmos: just wanted to let you know, it may not look wide from the outside, but it is very wide and roomy on the inside. Two big men could ride in the back very comfortably, not to mention the room in the front! I like the eyes in the front, funny, I don't see them as feminine, but they do remind me of a bird of prey. Overall, I Love, Love, Love this car. I was pretty intimidated by the I drive, however, it is so easy to use, I couldn't believe all the negative comments I had read and heard, I was wondering if they had ever even used it? Once you set everything in it to your personal specifications, you basically have no need to use it unless you want to. The only drawback is that you must push enter to accept BMW's agreement everytime you start the car. Seriously though, the only two things I can honestly say I don't like about it are the fact that you can't wipe off the back window in the rain, no wiper, which I was used to having, and it sits really low. Have to literally crawl in and out of my driveway where it slopes down to the road, to avoid scraping it. Thanks for your comments.

Yes, I have been in it at the showroom. I wasn't refering to the actual width of the car or the interior. What I meant was, visually, the car doesn't look low enough from the front and rear views, side views looks all right probably due to the length. I don't know if you know what I mean...the 745's are the same, they have a "high" look. (width to height ratio) Another way to describe what I mean is "the car doesn't look spread out, or road-hugging".

What critics condemn about the iDrive is that you have to shift your focus to use the iDrive when you are driving, as opposed to the conventional one touch button does it. When you have to look away from the road to choose options on the menu/screen, your focus on driving is impaired. I personally can't comment on the iDrive coz' I haven't tried it, but I'm sure it does do some cool things, and I can also understand how it can be a distraction to use while driving.

Anyway, I'm sure it's a fun car to drive! Let's hope it's a reliable car for a change!
