I'm glad I was of some assistance, andreyiv. It seems that the code feature was enhanced in the later years...which is good. I've never used it in my wife's '97 740 so I'm unsure of the changes. She hords that car all to herself...I do get to wash it for her though [?|]

And I get to do this ---> [driving2] while sitting in the garage after I've washed it.

BavarianWheels is [whip] 'd!!

[rofl] [rofl] [rofl]

The code feature is really good now, it even shows you the code untill you take out the key. I use the same code everytime so I just check over it during that time.

No, after you enter the code you want to use, you have to press the set button, after which, it shows what you just entered and disappears only when you take out the key. You said that on your car, you just enter the code and remove the key to set it, but on mine you press a separate button to set it and unlike the time you enter it to start the car, the code stays on the display. It's kinda hard to expalin, hope you understand what I have just said, although I don't fully understand it.[rolleyes]

For anyone wondering this feature is available in US BMW's cuz it in my '95 325is. One little thing that I have to add to everyone elses inut is that you have to input the code right after you turn the engine off ( in the 2nd key thingy). I love this feature and use it every time my car is going to be left out late into the night. It is a great protection device, now all I have to find is one that will stop those damn cops from giving me tickets!!!

I saw this feature on the 735i in the movie "Transporter", the guys who robbed the bank were going to shoot him, but he said you won't get anywhere without the secret code heheheh.
