what's the fastest you've gone in your M car?

I bet the car is just so quick to get to those high speeds, too. I have only taken my car to 120mph on two occasions, but I distinctly remember that both times, it was impressively easy to get to 120mph. So after those two times, I keep trying to stay away from the three digits because it's so easy to get there, it can easily become so addictive for me (and I don't wanna die). I can't even imagine how fast an M3 can get to 120++.

Btw, my friend just told me that his dad is letting him get a new car. He is trading in his 03 X5 4.4 for an M3 (he is ordering the M3 tomorrow), 6-speed fully-loaded. He said he's gonna let me drive it, I can't wait !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

85-90 MPH oh yeah [:D] but then again i just got my licence 10 days ago and my 325i hasn't been picked up yet (own it but still at dealer since no room at house, got pink slip in my name and dad's name) so have been driving a Corolla around (i dont understand why not move the Corolla somwhere else and get the new BMW in front off the house, waht are my parents thinking???) and the times I drive its way too busy on Southern California freeways to go too fast

Well I got no M-powered car nor a Bmw motor vechicle, in my land rover when my father fell asleep i just put a big grim on my face and hit 95mph, kinda scary considering your driving a 2.5 ton car that has a big warning label saying this car can flip under dangerous manuvers. But it was fun. On my Bmw Q.3S ( Bicycle) I did about 40mph, for a mountain bike thats really fast, I did that going down the Queensboro bridge. Cant wait till i buy my first bimmer when i get older = )

I take mine up to 120-140 almost everytime I drive it, My last record was 171 and before that 168.. doing over 100mph is normal driving... I am constantly trying to get the old men in the porches and corvettes to race. Where I live there is a nice stretch of road over the ocean that is called the causway, you have to go over it to get to Corpus christi.. never any cops.. i nail it here everytime i go into town..

I have a horrible driving record and plenty of tickets. i have also been taken to jail for speeding (another vehicle) So dont think that it is cool to speed

I drive the living shit out of my M3 and am always having to add oil to it, I speed shift from first through fifth when i am really getting at it (gas pressed all the way down) before my M3 I had a GSXR 750 and plenty of tricked out camaros and other hot rods.. nothing liek the M3. My GF thinks I am nuts, maybe if I get married I will settle down.. I am 34 and dont plan on it yet..

Drove a '97 BMW 850ci down the autobahn south of Munich a few years ago, hit 290 KPH (about 190 MPH) and backed off the car seemed more stable as the speed increased, of course the engine was modified. Beautiful car - a personal favorite.

I know there is faster. (BTW this isn't racing)

I don't believe the 850ci is an M car, but 190 is fast. I believe the 850csi is considered an M car. Personally, I've done 150 and backed off as soon as I realized it was 150. I was aiming for 140.

G*d Damn! You all make me feel like a sissy. I don't have an M; mine's a smaller engine (318Is), however the fastest I've taken mine is 130. And let me just say I was scared and yet exhilirated at the same time. It's the most awkward feeling; I must admit though that the car felt like it was in absolute control. I honestly did not think I was doing 130mph. I used to take my Camry (5sfe motor) up to 115-120 and it would shake like Mohamed Ali. Now that was scarey. And to the person that did 190; I aspire to be more like you. Hopefully one day when I'm out of college and I have the money for a faster Bimmer...one can only hope. [bmwkick]

exactly.. I am maxin out at 171-172 might be able to get more if it were not for the wind in this area.. I would definitely have to have a lot of mods added to the M3.. Dont know if it would even handle at those speeds.. Looking into some of the turbo chargers that are out there.. we will see

The first time I ever drove a BMW was a couple years ago in Germany. It was a 2000 328ci. Black on black. It was a US spec one that the Military Sales guy owned. I took it up to only 120 mph since the traffic would'nt let me do any more. Ever since then I've been hooked on Bimmers.
