Is a "tourer" a 2-door, or a 4-door?

The coupe (2-door) lowers the window, because thw window
slides under the window frame (which is part of the roof) when
the door is closed.

If it's a 4-door, aren't the window frames attached to the doors?
Thats exacty what I meant except that I thought we are talking about a 4 door sedan since lowering rear windows was mentioned and I don't think you can lower rear windows in a coupe, or am I mistaken?

Coupe rear windows in a 3-Series do not roll down. They have a push-out type window. When the rear window button is pushed a rod will open the window out from the rear of the window.

I knew there was no way to roll those down, thanks for the confirmation [:)].

had the inner door panel off again today. the lifters (ie the metal plates that pull/push the window up and down hook around the rear edge of the each of the two rails. There is is a couple of millimeters movement laterally here. There seems no way of eliminating this movement which is amplified of course higher up the window. If you bang the inner door with your palm it is this movement you hear. As I cannot see round the back of this rails without removing them i would like to know if there is or should be perhaps a small rubber wheel or something like this that should run up and down inside this to prevent the movement. No amount of "tightening" around the glass with electricians plastic tape strips between frame and window rubber surround prevents this movement at thee lower ege of the bottom of the glass. ive tried looking behind with a mirror but can see no way of eliminating this "play". Are new ones tighter...is there play in them too? As these "lifters are metal (to which the cables are attached) i cannot see how they would wear. ....still mystified!
