Again I am miss quoted.
You start your post; “Because of the the fact that I am 19, read the news, and know a hell of alot about this country than a lot of people than the "general public" as you like to call it,…” If you are trying to compare reading the news to first hand experience, (I was there and did that) you are making a sad comparison. Further reading the news is getting one biased side of a story. And you are a member of the general public, general meaning applying to a whole genus, kind, class, or order and public meaning concerning the people as a whole.
Then you said; “Granted at 19 I still have a lot to learn about life, but I still will at 30 too. You learn everyday.” By your own logic then you know more at 40 than at 19, or more at 50 than at 30, right? Next you said, “Because I am not 19 am i not allowed to have an opinion?” I did not say he could not have an opinion, I merely stated that at 19 he could not know all there is to know about this scenario. Now is that a fact or not? Try reading the post without emotion and not jumping to conclusions.
Next you said, “I wouldnt be given these rights by our federal government if they didnt think that I was at an age of maturity to do so.” Are saying because the Federal Government gives you the right to vote and serve in the military they, the government must know more than you for making this wise decision and giving you those "rights"?
You go on to say that "Most people who are 25 wish for what I have, but are too immature to have it." So where did you get that fact from, most people 25 are too immature to have what you have? I guess you mature at 19 and then lose that maturity at 25?
.
Then you make this bold statement, “I saw just as much death, destruction and hatred as everyone else did on 9/11”. No you did not, you were not there were you? Have you been in the trenches, lifted the dead bodies, and watched a man or woman die in your arms? Those people have seen a lot more death and destruction than you have.
And congratulations, you have been through war, not much of one if your talking about the Gulf war and the War on Iraq (no offense to vets, I admire and respect you for your service anywhere anytime). I have lived through WWII and the Vietnam War. My father served in the Korean War, WWII and two tours in Vietnam, so I believe it is fair to say that I have some experiences there. I never said that 19 year olds cannot have opinions, nor did I say they were not wise enough to listen to. Those are your words; you cannot find them in my post. My 24 year old son and his 22 year old sister are very wise, but still have heaps to learn about life.
“If I were to write a response on that page that the link sent me to on the 1st post on this page, i bet you wouldnt be able to tell whether i was white, black, asian, 16 or 45! take an opinion for what it it worth, not who is saying it.” Ok and so what has this got to do with anything I said?
And this is my opinion, based on experience, life experience and fact.
Sorry Wadula, you cannot take my post out of context, divide the sentence up and misquote me. I said that being 19 he could not possibily know all there is to know about this scenario. That is factual and does not imply being 19 he cannot know all there is to know about english, or rowing a boat, or that you cannot know something about this scenario or any other scenario. My son in engineering school, knows more about engineering than I, however he does not know all there is to know about engineering.
