BTW, I am not upset with the product, just disappointed it did not meet my high standards and the marketing practices of such a big company.
If you guys like it, I am ok with that..., you can get $5 off your purchase with a coupon online and Autozone has them for $14.99.
I can also use Turtle wax and Armor All..., but I "choose" to use higher quality products to get a better finish and durability(Zaino, Einszett, Klasse, just to name a few), as I cater to the high end auto enthusiests, detailers and collectors of fine automobiles.
I do not want this to be an ongoing argument. You have your standards, I have mine, nothing wrong with that..., is there?
I have ALWAYS said to use what you like best and fits in your budget and timeframe. I am constantly looking to improve and use the highest possible quality products, which are not found in Wal-Mart, Pep Boys or Autozone.".
Wayne, having been involved in the bimmer scene since 94 with my first bimmer, moderating bimmerforums.com (I'm sure some of you know it), and being a bit of a track rat, I am not only an automotive enthusiast but a bimmer enthusiast. I consider myself a discrimminating one as well.
During this time, I've used: Zaino, Finish First, Zymol, Meguires Medallion, Klasse, various 3M products including IHG, and my current favorite, P21S, including their paint cleanser and their wax. I've purchased nearly all my detailing products from Larry Reynolds at Car Care Specialties, a long time BMW CCA member, Roundel advertiser, and many-time-over concours winner.
Suggesting that anyone here happy with the Autodry has lower standards is presumptious at best. The Autodry has cut my weekly washings down from an hour + ordeal to 20-30 minutes. Given the fact that I have two children, a demanding profession, and time with my car is better spent driving, I actually value the convenience of the Autodry.
It worked exactly as claimed for me. Nothing more, nothing less. I was expecting it not to work, but for 20 bucks, I thought, what the hell, I'll give it a shot.
My questions revolve around actual effects on the wax and potential long term affects of the soap. Phil answered them honestly as he could, offering valuable information that I have been unable to get from P&G directly. I'm not sure of Phil's affiliation with Proctor and Gamble, but unless he's the CEO or a major shareholder, I'm not sure he's even technically capable of spamming. I'm glad somebody could give another view on the product, rather than all the purists out there labeling it the work of the devil.
Happy detailing.
I have a son to rock to sleep.
